All Sing Pub Event (Growing Singing)
This doesn’t have a specific date or even a specific venue! If you’d like to join in just email us () and we’ll add you to the mailing list for it. Every so often we invite singing-lovers we know – from choirs, folk clubs, singing groups etc – to come down to a venue and share some songs. There are solos, groups songs, choir songs, whatever! The point is that everyone sings. It’s completely free and we usually shake a bucket for Growing Well. If we have you on the mailing list then we’ll let you know in advance when the next meet up is happening.
Songclub (Kendal)
Songclub was led by Clare Elleray years ago then life got complicated and it faded away but Clare really misses it and is experimenting with bringing it back. It’s really just a high quality singaround where a few lovely people meet and sing songs to each other and listen attentively to the songs that others share. It’s not clear yet where the best place to hold it is going to be and we’re experimenting. The first meeting for years is to be:
98 Highgate (that pub/bar that used to be The New Inn on Highgate).
7.30pm on Wednesday 8th January 2025
All welcome (including listeners of course – you don’t have to sing). If you’re interested then email and she can put you on the mailing list.
Good Times Theme Time (Kendal)
Held on first Sunday afternoon of the month in Ruskins bar in Kendal organised by Paddy Garrigan. Join them to sing, play, harmonize and applaud music linked (however tenuously) to the theme of the month. Proceedings start at 3pm and finish later! All welcome.
Lake District Folk and Acoustic Club (Staveley)
On the second Friday of the month – a folk club meets at the Pavillion, Main Street, Staveley, LA8 9LN (on the recreation ground near the kids playground). This is run by the lovely Sandra and Steve (of Quartz and Close Quarters). You bring your own drink as there’s no bar but teas and coffees are available. Singers and musicians meet some weeks and invited performers on other weeks. Facebook page link here too. Any details you need from this email address: Use that email to join their mailing list. Well worth it!
