Here’s a flavour of what we’ve been up to last year.

An Invitation to All Sing

Singers filled 98 Highgate with song, chat and a lovely welcoming atmosphere. Thanks to all who came along – we raised an amazing £210.57 for Growing Well.

Saturday 18th October 2025 – Kendal Town Hall Assembly Room, 7pm

We had the most fantastic evening recently. The Magnificent AKs and Fellside Singers were a beautifully complimentary pairing with lots of sumptuous harmonies, a great evening with much laughter.

“What a fantastic evening that was. We thoroughly enjoyed it!”

“A stunning concert on Saturday night.”

“What a wonderful evening – still on a high and have several rotating ear worms! You were all fantastic. Thank you for the joy you bring to my life!”

The Growing Singers Volunteer At Growing Well

During the summer, members of The Growing Singers had a brilliant couple of visits to Growing Well and see for themselves how their donations are being put to excellent use and to volunteer their services. Most Fridays Growing Well welcomes community volunteers to crack on with the weekly list of varied jobs that need doing. We picked lots of French beans, weeded the kale patch, pinched out tomato plants and planted seedlings among other jobs too. What a pleasure it was to spend time there, chatting and getting to know each other better as we worked away.

The Growing Singers In Grange-over-Sands

Over the Summer The Growing Singers were delighted to sing in Grange-over-Sands as part of their special Bandstand concert series. We entertained the gathered crowd basking in the glorious sunshine and, together with Kendal’s Flutes & Co, raised a wonderful £201.00 for Growing Well, the local charity based at Low Sizergh Farm, Kendal. Growing Well have helped hundreds  of people recover from mental health challenges, with their unique approach to recovery through supported activity in the outdoors, within a real-world horticulture enterprise, supported and guided by experienced therapeutic growers and mental health support staff.   Thank you to Jo Knox for these gorgeous photos. We are hoping to do this again next year – would be ideal to be able to book the same weather – we’ll see!

The Growing Singers with Carer Support South Lakes and Cancer Care

THANK YOU SO MUCH to all our performers and supporters on 19th July – we are delighted to announce that we raised £1716.40 in total and Cancer Care and Carer Support South Lakes have each received a wonderful £858.20. This money will be spent caring and supporting local people at times in their lives when they need it the most.  We all had a most brilliant evening. Here are just a few of the many positive comments we received…

“A joyous evening.”

“A evening filled with the feeling of warmth and purpose. Absolutely great fun!”

“Wow that song Let Time Be Your Friend was so complex and gorgeous!”

“I felt a huge sense of togetherness and inclusion.”
